Marita
REGISTERED NURSE
Marita joined the Amazing Girls as a freshman at St. Francis Girls Secondary School in our very first cohort in 2012! After graduation, she joined Consolata School of Nursing in Nyeri, Kenya where she specialized in renal nursing. Today, she works at the Losaiba Wildlife Conservancy near her Maasai community as a nurse and hopes to someday work in the US or Canada.
“The Amazing Maasai Girls Project has brought so many Maasai girls’ lives from nowhere to somewhere, including mine. My parents had no means to pay for my school fees but this Project stood by me until the end.” - Martha

Terry
MASTERS DEGREE CANDIDATE
Terry joined the Amazing Girls in our very first cohort in 2012 at St Francis Secondary. Through her hard work and determination, she earned a B average and earned a place in university.
She studied at Egerton University, pursuing a bachelors degree in wildlife enterprise management, and graduated with honors.
She is currently pursuing a masters degree focused on disease and pathology and hopes to become a wildlife biologist in the future.
“Truly, my life has not been easy, especially coming from the Maasai community where no one believes that a girl should be educated and become a contributing member of society. I didn’t take this scholarship for granted and pushed extra hard in my academics.” - Terry

Hellen
TEACHER
Hellen graduated high school as an Amazing Girl in 2015. A year later she joined Lugari DTTC College, focusing on Kiswahili and CRE (Christian Religious Studies). She now teaches in a primary school.

Lillian
COLLEGE GRADUATE
Lilian joined St Francis Secondary in 2025. She had good grades in high school, so after graduation, she was able to secure a spot at the the Kenya Medical Training College.
“Surely the journey has not been easy but I am finally very happy. I am so grateful for all of this scholarship. My request is that you may continue supporting our Maasai Girls beyond high school.” - Lilian

Hinda
COLLEGE GRADUATE
Hinda was an Amazing girl from 2013-2016. She has just graduated from University of Nairobi, where she pursued a degree in Agricultural Economics.
“I am confident that the experience and knowledge that I have gained at college will allow me to make a lasting difference in other people’s lives, in the same way that you have made a lasting difference in mine. Thanks to this Project, I have been able to receive an outstanding education.” - Hinda

Unita
COLLEGE STUDENT
Unita is currently earning her Bachelors degree in Education at Moi University in Eldoret. She is training to be a secondary school teacher and hopes to return to her Maasai community to teach.

Elizabeth
COLLEGE STUDENT
Elizabeth joined the Amazing Girls also in the first cohort in 2012 in St. Francis Secondary. She is currently in her final year as a university student at Chuka University, pursuing a degree in English and Literature. Coming from a community where education for girls is not valued, she vows to dedicate her efforts to giving back to her community’s children, especially girls, to help them reach their full potential.
“I lost my mother two years before high school and my father could not afford to pay for my education, so my future was uncertain. I thank god for the Amazing Maasai Girls Project that helped me with my school fees and catered for my personal effects such as sanitary napkins. Life was difficult for me.” - Elizabeth

Valary
COLLEGE STUDENT
Valary was also a student in our very first cohort in 2012 and graduated St Francis Secondary School in 2017. She attained the requisite grades for university admission, but due to lack of school fees she was obliged to turn to casual work in Nairobi. Upon learning of Valary's situation, the Amazing Maasai Girls Project began contributing to college fees to enable Valary to attend Chuka University, where she is currently studying for a Bachelor's degree in Education.

Ranah
COLLEGE STUDENT
Ranah is a superstar! She graduated from St Francis as an Amazing Girl will the highest mark, earning her a partial scholarship to university! She is currently studying at Chuka University pursing a BS in Health Records and Information Management. She is excited in the future to have a medical career and help encourage young girls to pursue medical educations.
“My parents are not employed so they struggled to educate and feed their seven children. I thank the Amazing Girls Project for picking me and supporting me through my education.” - Ranah

Josephine
COLLEGE STUDENT
Josephine joined the Amazing Girls in 2018 and has recently been accepted into the International Teachers Training College where she will pursue a degree in Teaching. In the future, she hopes to be a teacher and inspire young girls to never give up. She didn’t and look where she is now— at uni!

Sonia
COLLEGE STUDENT
Sonia joined the Amazing Girls in 2018 and graduated in 2022. She is now attending Nakuru Teacher Training College studying to be a primary school teacher. Her advice to other Amazing Girls is that they should all try to pursue their dream and make their sponsors proud!
